Seeing Through The Silence: Gallery Talks

Gallery Talks with student photographer/artist-activist Lindsay Keiter to discuss her photography installation addressing sexual assault and rape on exhibit throughout the Penn State University Park Campus. Lindsay’s idea for this activism-oriented installation was developed, in part, in my CAS 497J class, Summer Session 2003.

Panel discussion with Stephen Hartnett, Jennifer K. Wood, Lana Marlow, and Lisa Langstraat. I will perform a segment of the poetry performance developed and performed over the last 4 years for the Impact of Violence programs in the Pennsylvania Correctional System.

Prison Communication List Service Group Pre-Conference. 
Daylong pre-conference discussion of objectives and development of the Prison Care communication group for the coming year.

Spoken word to accompany the song “Gas Well” for Erin Condo’s Leaving Songs CD Debut

Singer-Songwriter Erin Condo’s debut, Leaving Songs, includes a track called “Gas Well”, for which I wrote and performed the accompanying spoken word piece that you can hear throughout the song. This CD of Erin’s, which was produced by Bob Klotz and Bill Wilgus, offers guest appearances of many of the best musicians in State College, PA, and is a tribute to community effort and support of Erin and her talent.

Empowering the Victim: Writing as a Means of Healing Workshop.

Both programs developed for program-facilitators interested in implementing writing workshops for victims and survivors of violence.

Dora returns to Take Note for a 30-minute feature interview, including the complete showing of the short film One Woman’s Voice by Kate Bogle, documenting Dora’s combined roles poet, activist, teacher and survivor, and her efforts to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence.
