SANCTUARY, IN HONOR OF THE 40th ANNIVERSARY OF CRISIS CENTER NORTH

Sometimes I come across a posting or article about my work on social media and, after being initially startled, I find myself grateful that I get to live as I do, standing with people whose work and presence have made a difference in the lives of others. The 40th Anniversary Celebration in honor of Crisis Center North, where I delivered the poem Sanctuary that I was commissioned to write to honor their 40 years of serving victims of domestic violence, is one of those moments.

Thank you to Grace Coleman, the Executive Director Of Crisis Center North and my dear friend, for trusting my voice to honor this milestone, and to all of the members of Crisis Center North for the honor of joining you to share the poem Sanctuary for the first time publicly as you celebrate the over 80,000 lives that you have saved together since 1978.

A brief video of the event with my introduction to Sanctuary:

Sanctuary will be soon available as a special edition chapbook, with all proceeds of the chapbook funding direct services to victims of domestic violence.

All peace to each one of you. Dora
