Fall has always been my favorite season. All of the colors and the sideways light feel a little bit like magic to me, a little bit like the best kind of church I know. I pulled the car over in the canyon to stand beneath these trees, staring up into their shifting yellow and gold against the backdrop of enormous blue. I’m going to gather handfuls of the fallen leaves, maybe even bring some to you, iron them between sheets of waxed paper, made to look like stained glass, to remind us both that sometimes beauty can save you.

All peace to each one of you. Dora
